About Jim

Some of Jim’s earliest musical memories are of Irish ballads. That affinity was rekindled in the ‘80s when he was exposed to musicians from England, Scotland, Canada, Appalachia, and beyond.  His earlier performing experience consisted primarily of rock and American blues and that influence can be heard in his interpretations of traditional music.  In addition to playing guitar for over 50 years Jim enjoys learning to play new instruments. The ever growing list includes bouzouki, cittern, mandolin, mandola, whistle, and Celtic harp.  In addition to performing with Sue Jim plays guitar with the Bonnie Loch Fiddlers.
